POLICIES FOR ALL PROGRAMS - Please read before you purchase.

I. TUITION

1.Tuition is paid in advance for all lessons.  We require all private lesson students to be enrolled in our automatic billing program.  We accept all major credit cards, debit cards or you can elect to have funds drawn directly from your bank account.  Tuition will be withdrawn on the 1st of each month for the upcoming month.  Our tuition is based on the average of lessons received within the calendar year.  Tuition is the same whether there are 3, 4 or 5 weeks in a month and refunds will not be given for missed lessons.

2. Upon deciding to withdraw from lessons, Laity Institute of the Arts  requires the student and parent/guardian to fill out and turn in a withdrawal form 30 days from the time they wish to stop lessons.

3. Tuition will be pro-rated if the student starts in the middle of a month.

4. Tuition is due the 1st of each month. It is late the day after. A $15 late fee will be charged for tuition received after the due date.

5. Tuition is still due whether your child attends class or not during a given month unless notice is received 30 days in advance they will not be attending for a particular month. At that point all charges will be suspended until the student returns. Without advanced notice you will be expected to pay full tuition for the month the student is out.

II.  ATTENDANCE

1. Upon enrollment, a lesson time will be assigned based on the time available.  Since our teachers are contracted by the hour, students are required to attend all scheduled lessons on time.  Please be sure to choose a time that you can commit to on a regular basis.

2. If the student is 15 or more minutes late, they will be considered absent and the teacher will be dismissed

3. If the teacher has to miss the scheduled lesson, a qualified sub will be provided.

4. For missed or canceled lessons less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, no refunds or makeup lessons will be given.

5. If a student calls more then 24 hours before their scheduled lesson time they may be eligible to schedule a makeup lesson.  Students may only schedule makeup lessons twice per six month period.

6. As a courtesy to the teacher please call when you are going to miss a lesson.

7. Holding your student out does not exempt you from paying tuition. You are required to formally withdraw them 30 days before they are scheduled to stop.

III. Delinquent Account Policy

If tution isn't received on time all services will be witheld from your student until the account is brought current. All payments must be in credit card, debit card cashiers check or a personal check. No Cash. There is a $35 return check fee if a check is returned in addition to the $15 late fee. (We also report to Check Systems.) Withdrawing your child prior to paying tuition will not eleviate your responsibility to pay your students tuition, a 30 day written notice is required. See #7 above.

If your account becomes 30 days past due we will refer the account to collections. In this event, the student becomes inactive and is unable to be seen for lessons. In addition, all charges will be forwarded to our collections company, and a 50% collections fee assessed.

Please understand these are challenging economic times, we do not have the time or the resources to continually chase student tuition from clients who have not counted the cost in advance of what a supplemental education in the arts is going to financially require. We are dedicated to providing excellence in the arts to your children and we expect the same commitment in terms of fiscal responsibility for students education from our clients.

IV. CLOSINGS

Laity Institute of the Arts  will be open year round but will follow the Palmdale School District's schedule of major holiday closings (Thanksgiving, Winter Break, Spring Break and National Holidays). We will be open on all minimum days and pupil free days.
