As we look to imagine what instruction in the arts will look like for the 2020-2021 school year Laity is actively working towards providing the safest learning environment it can for our students. We will be working hand-in-hand with the school districts to make sure your children will be safe and have access to exceptional after-school programming.
Even though many organizations will have to revamp their teaching style and student enrollment procedures Laity will not. For over 30 years we have maintained a 15:1/10:1 student-teacher ratio or less in each of our classes, even teaching only 2 students in one class for a year. As educators, we recognized early on the necessity for small classroom sizes. Simply put, real individual learning is hampered with classrooms of 30 - 40 students.
Now that we have reached a new normal in this country regarding Covid-19 and school instruction, we feel that Laity is uniquely positioned to offer you what you are looking for in after school visual and performing arts programming. We now have the ability to teach your children remotely online if you have a computer, a tablet, or a smartphone. This is one way we can keep your children engaged and learning in a safe environment - your home.
In addition, when school districts reopen you can rest assured there will never be more than 10 -15 children in classes such as Art, Animation, Dance, and Acting. Music classes will always be 1-1 whether in-person or virtually online. That being said, class sizes will be limited and you are encouraged to sign-up to save your students' position in the class. When positions are filled a waiting list will be created.
In order for your children to take classes, you will need to download the Zoom app to your computer, tablet, or Smartphone. Please feel free to call if you have questions or register in advance.
