Alexandria Mayo

In 2015 Alexandria found the Laity Institute of the Arts and hasn’t looked back! Since enrolling in Laity, she has won numerous awards and competitions in the Fine Arts categories which include: placing 1st in 2015, 2016, and 2019 Jr. Fine Arts competition (Div., 21035-ages 13-17) as well as Best in her Division (category ages 13-17) here at the Antelope Valley Fair. She has also placed 1st in the 2015 and 2016 in the A.V. Press Christmas Design Art competition (grade category 7-9th), as well as her most recent win placing 2nd in the coveted 36th Assembly District Student Art Competition! This is a CA statewide competition where her artwork was chosen to represent our district!
Her artwork was also chosen by our local Assemblyman’s office, Assemblyman Tom Lackey, to be displayed at our State Capital in Sacramento until Feb 2020! What an honor!! She has also received numerous Honorable Mentions for her art and is very happy and excited about the art program that The Laity Institute offers!
Alex was privately mentored by recently retired Laity faculty member Anne Van Salter.
