Background

​

Founded in 1989, LIA's approach to the arts is based on the belief that a strong foundation begins with early education. The ultimate appreciation and thriving existence of the arts depends on individuals taught early on the value and richness of the skills possessed. Furthermore, students who have experienced and benefited from the arts in their own lives will guarantee their thriving existence long into the future without question of purpose or merit.

LIA has chosen to execute this plan by teaching the pillars of Visual Arts, Animation, Dance, Drama, and Music. Secondly, by providing a forum where these disciplines can be married together and showcased through local productions, recitals, and exhibits. All this is accomplished through the  LIA Scholarship Fund.

Why Support Us?

 

Arts programs are typically the first programs cut in tightening budgets and have suffered from many years of declining school budgets. Yet, arts programs are required by the state and government to be an integral part of the curriculum, recognizing their benefit to cognitive learning skills. LIA supports Arts Education as a vital and fundamental part of the core curriculum. The arts foster students' abilities to develop problem-solving skills, flexibility, creativity, cooperative approaches, persistence, responsibility, and oral and written language skills. 

 

We want to emphasize that we appreciate all gifts, big and small. The LIA Scholarship Fund helps to support and supplement the following programs on an annual basis:
